Brevity and branding 'the key to sales recruitment success'

Job-seeking executives have been advised that brevity, branding and networking are key when it comes to landing a new position.

That is the advice being issued by James Wren, general manager of search products and user experience at JobServe, who told Recruiter that in today's increasingly competitive marketplace, CVs should highlight experience, demonstrate ability to be a problem-solver, and offer examples and data that underscore an individual value proposition.

He pointed out that this is the best way of generating interviews and opportunities, rather than the traditional CV which "synthesises" an executive's experience into a bulleted, two-page document.

Mr Wren told the source: "To create more career options, dedicate a portion of every day to building relationships with contacts outside of your current company. The best networkers embody the philosophy that it is better to give than to receive."

Recently, John Salt, director of Totaljobs.com, said it is essential that jobseekers are flexible in their approach to sales recruitment if they are to enhance their prospects of securing a position.
