CV should be a 'sales tool'

Sales job hunters should apply their vocational skills to their CV preparations when planning how to market themselves to potential recruiters, treating their resumé as a 'sales tool'.

Reports on InTheNews.co.uk showed that many hiring managers only spend between 10 to 30 seconds studying each CV they receive, with an immediate impact required.
It reported: "The type of language that you use is also important. Your CV should be written in a professional and confident tone of voice that grabs a potential employer's attention and makes them want to find out more about you."

The website advised that people should give examples of when they have added value to a business - particularly relevant to those trying to secure sales jobs and demonstrate their impact on the bottom line.

The tips come as more sales jobs look set to hit the market, with the latest study by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG showing that permanent staff appointment growth in March this year was the strongest since October 1997.
