REC and KPMG: Rise in successful jobseekers
New figures have shown that the number of jobs in the UK for both permanent and temporary/contract staff increased last month.
A study by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG has found that permanent staff appointment growth is at its strongest since October 1997.
Kevin Green, chief executive of the organisation, described the figures as the "clearest sign yet of a revival in the UK jobs market".
He said that strong performances in both temporary and contract work also signal the important role that employment of this kind plays in the country's economy.
Mr Green added that these provide both flexibility for employers and a way for those currently looking for work to get back into employment.
Last month, University and College Union senior national education official Dan Taubman emphasised the importance of skills in the push for jobs, suggesting that those looking at sales jobs are likely to benefit from having a higher education qualification.
