Sales recruitment managers 'on the lookout for skills'

People hoping for sales recruitment success over the coming months need to make sure that they are keeping their skill set up-to-date, according to an expert.

Darra Singh, chief executive of Jobcentre Plus, told the Mirror that sales recruitment managers are on the lookout for people with updated skills, while he also encouraged people to go out and learn new ones by undertaking voluntary work.

"Keep your job search as widespread as possible - check websites, read newspaper recruitment sections, register with agencies, visit jobfairs and stay in touch with friends, family and old employers," he advised.

Mr Singh also said that jobhunters need to make sure that they keep their CV up to date, making it easy to understand while showing off all of a person's strengths.

Recent CV advice handed out by Gareth Lloyd, director of Workthing+, said that sales recruitment hopefuls have too much "waffle" on their resume.
