CV cover letter 'vital for sales jobs applications'
Many jobseekers overlook the importance of the CV cover letter when applying for positions, it has been claimed.
According to freelance resume writer Duane Lawton, applicants looking for sales jobs should focus on their skillset in direct relation to the position they are applying for.
"There's a strategy I use, called the break-it-down technique to craft resume cover letters that get job interviews. With this strategy, you take the prerequisites needed for the job and match them up with your background," he advised.
Mr Lawton went on to recommend that jobseekers should aim to be both creative and revealing when writing cover letters and stressed that allying skillsets to job descriptions allows employers to quickly determine whether an applicant is qualified for a position.
Earlier this month, employment expert Sarah Butcher wrote for efinancialcareers.co.uk that for more experienced sales recruitment hopefuls, a personal statement can be used to summarise past achievements.
