Young people should be UK's key priority

Getting young people into sales jobs should be the priority for the UK's decision makers, according to an industry expert.

James Caan, businessman and star of the BBC's Dragon's Den show, told the Daily Telegraph that he was "a big believer" in getting young people into work.

He added that last year would have seen a wave of "terrific talent dismissed or ignored", stating that 2009 was not an easy year for graduates.

Giving advice on how young people can get sales recruitment success, Mr Caan said that CVs and covering letters should be tailored for each different position which has been applied for.

He also said that volunteering in the field of work which they are trying to get into will help their cause.

Graduates should also make sure they seek out professionals for advice, as doing this would provide them with an invaluable insight.

Young people were also warned last week about keeping their social networking profiles clean, with more and more recruitment experts checking these for background information.
