Sales jobs applicants 'should prepare CV for upturn'
People looking for sales jobs should start preparing themselves now for the upturn in the jobs market, with many employers predicting it will happen in early 2010.
Experts speaking to the Mirror said that, in preparation for this time, candidates should aim to get some experience, even if it is unpaid.
"Don't write off the benefits of voluntary work or work experience. It may not pay straight away but it will make your CV a whole lot more attractive to potential employers," the newspaper added.
Another top tip is to make sure someone proofreads the CV as silly spelling mistakes can lead to people missing out on a job, especially when competition is high.
Those looking for sales jobs should network to pick up on new opportunities by speaking to previous colleagues and employees or attending industry events.
Rhymer Rigby, writing for the Financial Times, recently said that sales job applicants need to tune their CV to the specific job and company, highlighting the skills relevant to that role.
