Sales recruitment: Facebook indiscretions can haunt candidates
People looking for sales jobs should make sure they are careful about what they post on social-networking websites, such as Facebook, according to US president Barrack Obama.
The world leader advised students at a school in Arlington, Virginia, to be careful because with the advent of websites like YouTube any indiscretions from younger years can be pulled up later.
He said: "When you're young, you know, you make mistakes and you do some stupid stuff."
The president added that these earlier mistakes can come back to bite candidates when they are older.
Obama's comments come after wide speculation that employers are screening the Facebook pages of potential candidates for background information.
The Mirror recently said that jobseekers looking at sales recruitment need to prepare properly for every interview and find out as much as possible about a company they are keen to join.
