One in five sales jobs applicants lie on their CV
Nearly one in five sales jobs candidates attempt to deceive their prospective employer through their CV, a new study shows.
Research published by Powerchex says that there has been an increase of seven per cent in the proportion of people trying to lie or mislead using this document, a rise of nearly a third.
Alexandra Kelly, managing director of the analyst, claims that this is the second time in two years that the number has risen.
She highlights young people as being more likely to attempt this technique, saying it is unfortunate to see them resorting to these tactics.
To determine the results, the organisation assessed a total of 4,735 job applications and compared major trends and false information in a number of areas.
Earlier this week, Ms Kelly told CityAM that the additional pressures created by the recession could be leading candidates to lie in this way, citing the case of a hotel executive forced to resign for falsifying his degree history on his CV.
