Diversifying skills 'could help applicants secure sales jobs'

Developing a strong and diverse selection of skills could enable those looking for sales jobs to stand out from the crowd, an expert asserts.

Jason Greaves, head of commercial staffing at Manpower UK, tells Onrec.com that skills have always been the greatest assets of businesses.

He states: "The importance of training cannot be underestimated. Keeping on top of advancements in key areas relevant to your industry will help give you a competitive edge, which is especially important during an economic downturn."

Taking additional courses in seemingly unrelated areas such as accounting or language skills could enable those looking at sales jobs to secure employment, he suggests.

Mr Greaves also advises those looking for sales jobs to take temporary positions or work experience in order to enhance their CVs, the news provider reports.

In other news, recent research for the Department of Work and Pensions has found that 27 per cent of Brits have lied on their CVs in order to help them stand out from the crowd.
