Jobsites 'withdrawing employment ads'
Jobseekers need to be more intelligent in their search for employment as the number of online adverts being posted is decreasing, it has been claimed.
According to job search consultant Angela Loeb, who worked as a recruiter for 14 years, there are around 80 million resumes on the internet, but only between three and eight per cent of jobs are obtained from answering online postings.
She continued: "[This is] all the more reason for job seekers to do what's necessary to stand out."
Ms Loeb went on to say that online job adverts are declining from heights in 2003, when one vacancy on a major job board attracted 200 resumes in less than 24 hours.
"If one ad brings you 200 resumes, you just don't need to keep posting more," she added.
Earlier this week, conservation group The Live Green, Live Smart Institute claimed scam environmental job sites are being set up to gather information for identity theft or to send fraudulent emails.
