New job 'could be safest option'
In certain circumstances it can be safer to seek new employment than remain in a current role, it has been claimed.
According to Corinne Mills, human resources advisor at recruitment firm Monster, it is natural for people to stay where they feel secure with the current high levels of anxiety.
"However, sometimes leaving for a new job can be a less risky option than staying, particularly if you are moving to an organisation with brighter prospects than your current one," she commented.
Ms Mills went on to say that a change in career can be achieved successfully with planning, adding that taking a relevant course or doing work experience can improve prospects.
She said that any move should be approached with dedication, enthusiasm and a "healthy dose of realism".
Research carried out by the company earlier this month indicated just one in ten workers believe that they are currently in their perfect job, with 14 per cent refusing to believe that their perfect job exists.
