Job sites 'should maintain competitiveness'
Online recruitment boards should not cut back on their marketing spend in the current uncertain economic climate, it has been claimed.
According to 1Job.co.uk, job board customers will expect a rise in the number and quality of applications they receive as more people are likely to be looking for jobs in the financial downturn.
"Job boards that do provide improvements on the number of applications they send will be the winners, both retaining existing customers, and gaining new ones," the group added.
The company went on to say if firms compare their employment search sites against the generic engines such as Google and Yahoo, it could change the way they think about acquiring applications and saving money.
It added that marketing activity should be sustained in order to maintain competitiveness.
Earlier this week, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development claimed pre-employment training courses can shorten the length of time that people spend out of work.
