British workers have 'sports fatigue'
UK employees may be tired of the Olympics before the event gets into its stride, a new survey indicates.
A survey by Monster Meter found that nine per cent of British people intend to take time out of their day to keep track of the Olympics, compared to 18 per cent who will do so occasionally, reports Online Recruitment.
However, 72 per cent of respondents asserted that they would not distract themselves from their sales job or other role in order to follow the sporting event.
Julian Acquari, managing director of Monster in the UK and Ireland, commented that the Olympics is one occasion that could perhaps justify distraction from work tasks.
"Building a positive environment in the office over a major event like this can bring colleagues together," said Mr Acquari.
The same publication revealed recently that a poll by TheLadders.co.uk found 82 per cent of managers plan to remain in contact with the office while on holiday.
