Recruiters are 'expert' at finding CV discrepancies
Sales recruitment agents are likely to be "quite expert" at picking up on discrepancies in a CV, according to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).
A recent survey by the Risk Advisory Group found that more than 50 per cent of CVs contain inaccuracies.
Employers currently engaged in sales recruitment should also take note that the 36-40-year-old age group were the worst offenders.
Anne Fairweather, head of public policy at REC, remarks that many employers expect candidates to be telling the truth.
She warns this is where a good recruitment agency comes in handy, stating that "it is their job to vet people day in day out".
Ms Fairweather added: "They know what they are looking for, they know where the anomalies are and they have seen every trick in the book at the end of the day.
"For an employer who doesn't recruit very often it could be of benefit."
